Shiva

Quick bit of news gang: Famitsu is confirming that we can expect plenty of drivable summons in FFXIII. At E3 we learned that Shiva, Snow's summon, can morph into a motorcycle under certain, as-yet-unspecified conditions. From there, Snow is able to ride the bike in battle and do some high-action damage. While we know little about the other summons and their subsequent Drive Modes, it's so fun to speculate! Let's have a ball brainstorming summon vehicles we'd like to see.

I'll kick us off by sayin…  More

FSFLA's Anti-DRM logo v1.1 by Alfredo Daniel Rezinovsky
Robert Hernandez from Sony DADC (the makers/owners of SecuROM) has contacted Reclaim Your Game and requested an interview for the "opportunity to answer some of the claims made on [the] site."

For those that don't want to read a whole article before finding out where they can spam suggest their insightful questions, I'll cut to the chase before telling the whole story. Firstly, RYG have laid some ground rules.

We are looking for QUESTIONS here, NOT rants, NOT opinions, NOT pointless rage. Keep it …  More

So snails "gamer of the week" angry gamer vid reminded me of an old old old video of someone playing counter-strike that was the first ever "Rage" video I saw and is still by far the best.

So I present to you The v0z:

FFVII

Because there are still two or three people in the known world who have yet to lead Cloud Strife to greatness, the Sony Store is now selling FFVII. The Playstation Network, which can be accessed via PS3 or PSP, is schlepping the masterpiece for only $9.99--you can't even buy a Slapchop for that!

To help push you over the spending edge, here are my top five reasons to shell out for FFVII.

1) If you play it really, really slowly, it might help you hold out for XIII.

2) Because everyone else is doing …  More

When I started doing the research for this article I went into it with the idea of finding 5 one hit wonder developers. I soon realized that was going to be harder than I had anticipated. The reason being is that a lot of developers released sequels to their one hit, and thus sometimes creating two hits. So I moved away from the notion of one hit wonders, and shifted my focus to developers that only really nailed a single intellectual property. These are my top 5 results:

#5 - Shiny Entertainment…  More

RE5

I recently put my questions to the spooky scary portal known as reHorror. Just like Limit Break they are a young portal fairly new to the GameRiot platform, but they already have a thriving community of Resident Evil devotees. So what else should we know about reHorror?

Snail: Tell us a little about your community.

DaMa: The site started out as a fansite in September 2000. We've been in the Resident Evil business for quite some time now. Over the years we were able to create heaps of unique conte…  More

WoW

There’s no question that WoW is habit-forming. Most gamers have more than a few cautionary tales to tell about MMOs that are massively addicting. But is game dependency deemed addiction a proper application of the term? Addiction specialists Smith and Jones think so. That’s why they’ve designed the world’s first MMO addiction treatment clinic in Amsterdam.

The Wild Horses Center treats gaming addiction with the same seriousness as drug dependency, gambling, and eating disorders. The founders say …  More

Every time I play a console RPG there are certain things I expect, look for, and hope to see. I'm not talking about amazing graphics or engaging gameplay mechanics. I'm talking about small things. Details. I don't dare call them minor things, because to me, they are not minor. They are important strings of code that should be present in every console RPG without fail, and it terribly hurts my feelings when they are missing.

I went to Aberystwyth (where Koudelka is set) once. All the locals seemed to be either bat**** crazy Welsh Nationalists who spoke exclusively in Welsh (the only language you learn in order to communicate with fewer people) or tracksuit wearing cockheads who drove pimped Ford Escorts with under-car neon lights, listened to Dutch Techno and spoke in a hybrid Welsh/Gangsta Rapper patois about “blunts and *****es, boyo”. They’d probably knifecrime you soon as look at you, the little psychos. In shor…  More

My gamer of the week apparently taped himself playing Gears of War 2, knowing it would be a hoot for the rest of us to watch him go ape****. While it's possible he was exaggerating for our benefit, what really makes this video for me is this lad's impressive vocal range. From gravelly and satanic to higher and pitchier than a Mariah Carey wannabe, listen to his voice run the gamut of crazy.

Oh and there's no way his language is safe for work.

There's no question that Square knows how to make a media splash, and for the release of FFXII they did it with a splash of herbs and carbonated water. Check out the health drinks, seen here.

FFXII Potion

What's in the bottle? Pure magic . . . oh, and Royal Jelly, Propolis Extract, Elderberry, Camomile, Sage, Thyme, Hyssop, Fennel, Marjoram, Rosemary, Basil and Melissa, carbonated water, caffeine and artificial coloring. (I'd say that's worth at least 300 HP.)
